21/11/2009 - This is for you, Ashley

I have no internets with which to edit this blog. But as I do today, I am doing. However, I have nothing to say.

Sorry.

Ashley Tilley, I dedicate this blog post to you. Because you asked for it. And I'm a big fan of your work.

You are part responsible for my geekness. For that, I bow to you.

03/07/2009 - Day Three...

Yep...day three of the massive tablet challenge. I'm doing good! Although the main side effect I am feeling is the need to go out and buy pretty things! Lots of clothes! I can live with that!
I'm a little jittery, but dealing with it ok. Only 4 more days to go! Then 2 months, 3 weeks of antibiotics left!
At least tomorrow the dose of steroid is halving. So sadly the tablet art will not be as interesting. I'll try, though!

There is a theme to today's art:

Face with bunches in hair (as if you couldn't tell...)

Face with bowtie and fez...clearly...

OK, I admit. I have no idea what this is. Girl in lipstick sticking her tongue out? Smoking a cigarette? (Which is bad, kids)

Can you tell I'm a little bored today?

02/07/2009 - Day Two...

Day two of nasty tablets.

No suicidal feelings as yet. Which is nice. Jitters, yes, but not so many I want to do bad things.

So here is today's art:

Nothing particularly interesting. I'm feeling unoriginal. I'm sorry. I'll try and be more creative tomorrow. I promise.

I have got myself a treat to make it all better:

Apparently they are the only ones who have the answer! Although I do not like the container. Where has the tube gone? Where have the coloured caps with the letter on it gone? All we get is this:

I mean, what is that?! And a crappy question. What D is Shrek's best friend? Who gives a crap?

...

Bad mood. I blame the pills. Is that right, smarties? They say yes.

01/07/2009 - Rattling as I walk

So after many MANY long weeks, I get my medication. Finally.

You see, I have a crappy nose, and ordinarily, in cases like mine, they would operate and make it all better. However, I am allergic to ibruprofen, therefore I cannot take anything to ease swelling without having an asthma attack. Nice. So I have to have lots of medication.

Lots and lots.

This is just one dose.

Apparently 1 in 20 get suicidal thoughts while taking these pills.

I refuse to let them take me. So I try and turn that frown upside down by making art with them.

I'm a big softie, me!

Stay tuned for more medical artwork!

16/06/2009 - My Boss's strange obsession...

So my boss has a strange obsession. I have known him many years, a few of them before I worked for him. Yet I had no idea that he had a crazy hobby...
...
...

Yes, my boss collects toilet rolls. And wraps them in red post office elastic bands.

Why? No idea. Is he hoarding incase rationing comes back? Is it the currency of the future? Planning on bargaining them for cigarettes or chocolate? Not a clue. But they took over our last office which was much bigger. I thought when we moved into a tiny office we were free. And we were. Until the beginning of this year. Now it's gone mad again!

Maybe he only collected 2, and they have reproduced and spawned clones.

I will keep you posted as to whether the collection expands.

Oh oh oh! Found some more!

This is a drawer in one of the filing cabinets. It is the stationary drawer. Not any more!! It's got white binbags full of toilet rolls in!

Total toilet roll count: 103!!

It's not like we even need to supply them here. They never lessen in number...only grow.

All suggestions as to why he collects them will be gratefully received!

12/06/2009 - Not good...

It's always nice to sit in a courtyard, or beer garden when the sun is out.

Sit with a good friend...have a beverage...people watch...admire the scenery...

Apart from when the scenery is this:

That is a dead mouse under the chair of two ladies enjoying a light lunch.

I don't think they knew he was there.

He got promptly removed when the staff were told...but only after the two ladies had gone. We didn't even see him move it! Stealthy vermin removal.

Kudos to him!

29/05/2009 - Just to clarify

I often complain to people about my cat taking up half the bed. They wonder how something so small can do that.

This is how.

She is a long cat.

I tried to take a picture with my leg in it so you can get a sense of perspective. It's a bit blurry, but here goes:

She is longer than my shin. I'm not tall...but this is quite embarrassing actually.

She needs as much room as I do in our bed. Paul needs room too.

Maybe I should sleep in the spare room...

21/05/2009 - It's Raining

I like the idea of adding pictures to my blog...even if they have no relevance. So here is one! It just came up on my 'my Pictures' screensaver so I felt the need to share it with the world. Even more than it already is. As I believe this picture was taken of the back of a lavatory cubicle door in The Brookhouse on Smithdown Road.

Classy. Poor Helen Jones. I think she's just misunderstood.

I just got soaked on the way in to work.
I fully intended on taking a photo of the lake that has decided to become a feature on Tithebarn Street, opposite the lamb banana, but quite frankly it was too rainy.

May blog again later. If there is something to write about.

So I didn't feel it necessary to wear waterproofs (pl?!) on my way in to work on a Thursday morning in May (it shouldn't be necessary) but I did learn that I make a wicked cup of tea.

...

Ok, I knew that already.

20/05/2009 - My first blog post! Yippee!

This is the first blog post ever and I don't know what I am doing! So it will be a shambles but hey, it's all good fun and another way of filling boring hours in the office!

So I thought I would put a picture of a cat 'roffling'...as that's always good for the craic!

Will be more interesting soon. Promise!
