30th September 2014 - Use It!

Wasn't in the best of moods again this morning after a lousy sleep but to change the record slightly, we went to the gym! I KNOW!

Then, even though I didn't want to go in, I went to work. It was a horrible day. I felt like people were getting at me left right and centre. Can't do right for doing wrong. I tried to top caring about it but that's easier said than done.

Luckily, being so busy means that the days fly by and home time came quite quickly. I did have stuff to do at home as well so couldn't sit around feeling sorry for myself. The ironing wasn't going to do itself.

I have to protect the ironing while I'm doing it otherwise at least one at will curl up on it and cover it in fur / give it more creases / look so cute I can't move them off the ironing!

Paul called me for dinner so I used that as a valid reason to stop ironing for the night!

Paul had noticed a marinade in the cupboard which he had been given as part of a set for Christmas from my brother. It was best before the end of the month so we had best use it, given that this is the end of the month!

It was really nice! Sad we didn't discover it earlier!

We watched the start of the brand new episode of Castle then some more Stargate, then headed to bed once more as I was shattered!

29th September 2014 - Stupid Monday!

Today was another Monday that we didn't want to get up for. We did...but begrudgingly.

Suffice to say we didn't gym. Bad boy and girl.

It was a sucky day in the office. Given loads of work to do as a matter of urgency but there's far too much for it all to be done urgently. Driving me bonkers.

Survived the day, just about, although I'm not sure how. I came home in a grump and instead of doing my chores, I did naff all. I watched to and laughed at Barney making himself a new bed in Paul's travel bag!

He was just so cozy in there I didn't have the heart to move him!

Fairly early night was had. Much needed.

28th September 2014 - TV Addict!

So for a complete change in events, I was the first person up today! I was wide awake in bed and Paul was snoozing away. Both kitties were begging for their breakfast and generally being naughty so I got up to feed them, made a brew then settled in front of the tv.

Which is pretty much where I stayed all day!

I finished off the 9/11 documentary I started watching the night before, during which Paul joined me. We then watched Match of the Day, then when that was done we were at a loss. So there was only one thing for it.

Stargate Sunday. Yeah.

We watched a LOT of Stargate today! Paul went to the supermarket during one episode, leaving me to watch it (it wasn't one of his favourites) then we carried on into the evening!

We did stop for snacks.

Paul also made dinner between episodes. We were planning a nice pork roast! Paul likes to marinade the meat before it goes in the oven, so he glazed a tenderloin with honey, mustard and soy sauce.

We then watched more tv. Because it's Sunday and them's the rules!

Then came time for X Factor and dinner! Want to see the finished article?!

Roast pork with sage and onion stuffing, crushed winter vegetables and mixed greens.

DEEEELISHUS!

Yep - that is my plate. I polished off the lot and offer no apology for it!

Once X Factor finished it was time for Downton then bed! I love that show!

27th September 2014 - Best intentions.

We had a small lie in this morning. I did want to be productive today so we headed over to Speke to do some shopping.

Paul also decided that it was high time we got a new laptop and so we went to look at what was available.

We stood around a well known electronics shop, which I shall call...World of PCs...and we waited. A LONG time.

We were willing to spend quite a bit of money there to get a decent laptop but no one wanted to serve us. So we left.

No Sims 4 for me then!

We headed to a furnishings store to have a look at curtains and other homewares and bought a few things! So the day wasn't a complete disaster!

 A new basket for all my washing goods. Maia approves.

A new laundry basket for the downstairs shower room for all the icky gym kit to be put in before washing! It's not wicker etc so the cats won't be attracted to scratching it like the big one upstairs, and the lid is sturdy enough for a Barney bum! Perfect! If it doesn't last long, it didn't break the bank so it's a winner!

Paul left to go to the football and I had all the best intentions of getting up and getting some cleaning done. Except I felt sick. Very sick. It came on very quickly, so I rested for a little while after taking some medicine.

It helped and I was able to do some of my chores but not as many as I had intended. :(

Paul came home and we were very naughty and ordered a chinese takeaway to accompany our evening of reality tv!

I didn't feel great though, so I didn't really enjoy the takeaway. Shame really. I love chinese food!

We watched some more tv, but it was getting late. I had some more medicine then headed to bed.

26th September 2014 - Fancy!

Another lousy nights' sleep. I don't think I've had a good night's sleep for a while. Ah well. Nearly weekend!

I headed to work, preparing to have a productive day. Instead, I was overwhelmed by spreadsheets until just after lunch. Really not helpful to me at all. I hate Excel!

We got quite a lot done but not as much as I would have liked. A wasn't too bad about it though, but he did keep bringing me loads of work which makes me even further behind than we already are.

The end of the day brought fun times though. It's T's birthday on Monday and her husband is away on an all expenses paid trip to Miami. So we thought we'd spoil her!

Yum!

Fancy Fizz Friday was a success! It was enjoyed by all! Strawberries in Prosecco is a delicious treat that I highly recommend!

When I got home, the party didn't stop! Well, for about 2 hours it did, as I had to wait for Paul to get home. Then I brought Paul under my wing!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

After a couple of these, some pizza and Strictly on the tv, followed by X Factor, it was time for me to go to bed. I was exhausted.

I left Paul listening to music and retired.

25th September 2014 - Home Office.

Did not want to get up this morning. It wasn't nice. We had to though, as work rests for no person.

Another long and crazy day in the office. Didn't get anywhere near as much done as I would have liked, so ended up bringing a load of stuff back with me to get on with. Grr.

At least I didn't have to be anti-social whilst doing work as Paul was going out to a black tie do. Yep - another night when I didn't really have time to socialise with my husband!

As soon as Paul left, I headed up to my office. Yeah, it's also my bed. I spread out the files and got cracking. Barney helped.

He's very good at being a paperweight.

I decided to have some background entertainment while I worked so I finished watching 'Saving Mr Banks' that I started on Sunday. It was very good. I then had to decide what to watch next. I decided to start 'Orange is the New Black' on Netflix. It wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be. I was curious to keep watching though, and got through about 4 episodes.

Barney got bored of working.

The lure of the belly was too much for me. I gave up and gave him big belly tickles!

It was after 10:30pm and Paul still wasn't home. I made myself a peppermint tea and watched another episode of Orange in the New Black. It was then time for lights out as I was getting tired.

Still no Paul.

However, someone felt like guarding me and taking care of me while Daddy was out.

Barney came and cuddled up in the crook of my leg. Sweet.

The baby next door was being a noisy so and so, banging on the walls and yelling at the top of his voice. Sleep was going to be difficult. I put a pillow over my head to muffle the noise and managed to doze off.

I woke to a start when I looked up and found Paul at the bottom of the bed. He scared me!

24th September 2014 - 4 Years of The Beep!

I can't quite believe we have had Barney for 4 years today! It feels like we've always had him! I can't remember what life was like without him! Well - Maia was the naughty one. We've had Barney nearly half her life! That's weird.

I sent these pictures to Paul as a good morning while he's away. Aren't I nice?!

I managed to haul myself out of bed after a pretty poor sleep and get myself to work. I couldn't complain about a crap sleep though. T had been out with a friend for her birthday and had polished off 2 bottles of wine...to herself. There were 2 of them out and they got through 4 bottles of wine! On a school night! Shocking behaviour!

I guess that shows she's meant to be my friend! :)

The system was down first thing. Again. It's not too bad for T as she can do the typing into a word document and copy and paste it into the system once it re-connects. Me, on the crappy computer, could not do a thing.

So I cleared out J's old desk as it's never really been done since he mysteriously left last November.

Loads of crap paperwork which is irrelevant now. Loads of multi-colour highlighters (we're only supposed to use yellow) and a bouncy ball. WHAT?!

When my Mum used to go gardening when I was a kid, when she attacked the bushes at the bottom of the garden, chances are she'd find a bouncy ball. I found one in a pen tidy. Random!

After work I headed home and prepared for Chris to come over for #Whedonsday! Paul had kindly cooked us a curry on Monday night so we didn't have to starve or eat Beans on toast or something.

We watched some Angel, which was good, and as we were waiting for Paul to get in (he just about made his train!) we prepared to watch Shield! Yes - it's BACK! Very enjoyable indeed!

After Chris left, we cleared up and headed to bed. Barely managed to speak to each other! I didn't have anything exciting to say, so no loss there!
