07/12/2013 - Hootenanny!

We were awake quite early. Paul seemed ok...except for not remembering anything. Oops.

He couldn't wallow for long, as he had to go to the football. I had to go to the shops to get a few bits and bobs.

The downside is that my chest was really sore. Like it was back in March when I had Costochondritis. REALLY wasn’t happy about that. I don’t know if that’s what it is but it sure feels like it.

Can’t dwell on that though, as there was a shindig to prepare for, an outfit to find etc.

We were heading out for Chris’s birthday shindig at Circo on the Albert Dock! We hadn't been for years and years. We went when it first opened and we weren't very impressed. We were hoping our minds will be changed.

We all paid upfront which meant we got bottles of beer and spirits delivered to the table so we didn’t have to go to the bar! Great idea! Except that the bottles didn't really seem to last very long...and were very expensive so we didn't actually get that much!

Ah well, we had a great time and the entertainment was wicked!

The rum had sparklers!

FIRE DANCERS!

We were both pretty tired, so we left the party earlier than we necessarily would have. Sorry, Chris!

We got back and Paul headed to bed. I stayed up to have a drink of water...and woke up on the couch at 6am. Oops.

22/01/2013 - Drama

Nothing really happened today. Work was crazy busy as usual, especially as I was super busy and my colleague didn't seem to notice that me sitting there with my headphones in not making conversation in any way, shape or form was a hint for her to STOP TALKING AT ME. Raaaaaa.

Aherm.

Anyway, I got home and went to sort some washing in the spare room. I noticed a flashing light through the window, and saw it was a fire engine.

Turns out that there was a house fire in the next street along! I've never actually seen that before!

I think the house is empty but we saw flames and everything. Not nice at all.

They got this massive floodlight out so they could see inside better! The amount of smoke coming through the windows was scary.

So there you go. Feel so sorry for the owners of the house and I hope that the damage isn't too bad.
