29th November 2014 - Happy Caturday!

We woke up and were not in the best place, health wise. We were both a little worse for wear. Oops.

Plus my migraine came back. Just awesome. I should have known. Cheese and fizz. Well done Caroline. At least we remembered to go to the shop on the way home and get milk for the much-needed brews.

I was a little chilly, so decided that my new toy, the heated throw I bought yesterday, needed to get an airing! I also wanted to see if the cats would enjoy it. Ha. Like there was any doubt!

Maia was first up. She was initially apprehensive. But then I think she realised it is awesome.

That's a happy kitty right there!

Next was Barney's turn. Another apprehensive kitty...but he warmed to the throw (lol!) sooner than Maia!

You'd better believe this belly got a LOT of kisses. Because he was so contented, he didn't mind!

Those are two contented kittens right there! I'd say that the throw was a huge success!

Paul had to go to the football, leaving me on my own. So I took the throw downstairs and did as I generally seem to do when I'm on my own and get the ironing done!

Barney joined me.

He really does like the throw! Plus he was cuddling the white blanket at the same time. So cute!

Goofy chops!

My head still wasn't great and I got the majority of the ironing done but not all of it. I took more medication and decided to curl up on the sofa for a while to sleep off the pain. My turn to get cozy on the throw!

Barney joined me for a while but decided that he couldn't relax as much as he wanted. When I got up to make some honey and lemon I found him on the packet that the throw came in!

Possibly one of the best pictures I have of Barney! Shame the rest of the kitchen is a mess!

Paul told me he was on his way home and had bought some new work shirts so I didn't rush to finish the ironing, knowing that I would need to do those shirts as well when he came in. I got most of it done and a couple of the new items before dinner. Then Paul took over and finished off as my head still wasn't right.

I had lit the candles to make everything all warm and pretty when I noticed that they had all gone a bit...drippy...

They had dripped so much that two of them had fused together! I'm a little sad that it's dripped over the wood but at the same time, it kinda looks cool. Maybe I'll leave it. Not sure yet.

Paul stayed up to watch the football but I went to bed. I really need this head pain to do one now.

29th March 2014 - More ouchies

It's Saturday! YAY! Also known as lie in bed for as long as humanly possible day! WHOOP!

Paul broke the rules though. He got up to watch the qualifying for the Grand Prix, leaving me in bed. I sat up to have a cup of tea and noticed some bright lights in my left eye. Really bright. To the extent I thought my phone light was flashing bright. NOPE. Migraine. These are far too frequent for my liking.

Dry bread was eaten, medicine was taken and then all there was left to do was wait it out. In bed. Feeling sorry for myself.

Paul then had to leave to go to the football. So I didn't have anyone to wait on me. Nothing worse when you're not feeling tip top.

The pain subsided a little and so I got my laptop to catch up on my postings when a certain little princess decided she wanted a cuddle.

But she couldn't just sit down and curl up. No no, she had to make a big deal out of it!

Thanks, Moo! Sorry for the shots of my hideous and old tracky bottoms. They're comfy therefore they win. At least I got dressed today! A pajama day would have been perfection!

Eventually Maia got bored of me reaching over her to type, so moved on to comfier spots elsewhere. Barney, however, decided he wanted to give the Mama-pillow a try!

He rested his head against my knee and lay there for AGES! As he rarely cuddles me during hours when people might actually see him, this had to be photographed. He kept reaching up for my hand on the mouse as well! TOO CUTE!

I had a small bowl of museli for breakfast which helped me feel a little better but I soon got hungry. We didn't have much in the way of easily prepared food in the house (waaaa, no husband to wait on me!) so I had to grab the easiest thing I could. Turns out it was awesome.

Quavers may just be the best crisp in the world. I LOVE them! I don't have them very often so at least I can think highly of them for now!

I vegetated for most of the day until the pain subsided. I meant to get stuff done today but the migraine knocked me for six.

Paul got home and was celebrating a football win. I came to join him downstairs to be good company. We ate curry and watched The Hunger Games (the first one) as some light entertainment before Match of the Day. He watched that while I went off to bed. So I got up for about 4 hours. That's acceptable, right?

16/11/2013 - I told me so.

I was right. It did hurt.

It didn't hurt too much at first. I thought I might just have a little bit of a headache. Nope. I had a whopping great big cluster heading which triggered a migraine which made Caroline a very unhappy girl. This is exactly why I shouldn't drink in excess but sometimes you just can't help yourself!

We were going to go back into town today but due to my crappy head not being able to have just a normal hangover, I stayed in bed and felt sorry for myself. :(

The migraine made me so nauseous I felt extra sorry for myself (but could ask for no sympathy as it's my own fault) so I went looking for my travel sickness tablets which usually help. Instead I found some of my lovely sister-in-law's nausea tablets she was given when she was really bad with morning sickness a few months ago.

They're basically the same drug as travel sickness tablets and when I checked to see if I could actually take them (no allergies etc) I saw that they were prescribed to people who suffer sickness with migraine! SCORE!

(Obviously this is very naughty and I shouldn't take drugs from anyone other than a pharmacist...but desperate times call for desperate measures!)

Besides, these nice strong painkillers were not working for me at all!

The nausea tablets really did help! I was able to manage a little bit of dinner, which was a success!

I watched the usual Saturday night television, but was still feeling a little dodgy, so I took myself to bed nice and early.

All in all, a waste of a day. :(

18/05/2013 - Woe is me!

I woke up this morning with a migraine. Not good. One is not amused.

I ate a couple of crackers and took some medication and it eased. Temporarily. Which was good as I had to head into Liverpool to meet my bezzie who needed to do some shopping before heading out to Sorrento in a couple of weeks to be a bridesmaid at her friend's wedding.

As it was a bit of a rushed sesh, we went for some lunch before she got her train back home. We went to a place called House on Bold Street. Everywhere was absolutely packed. This place - not so much!

It's a bit trendy and mismatched, but it's fun enough and the menu is quite varied.

Luce decided that lunch was on her as she had got some pretty good tips the night before. She came back from ordering lunch with these:

Gin and tonic. For breakfast (I hadn't eaten yet, other than the couple of crackers earlier on). I'm not proud of this but couldn't say no.

I ordered cheese and ham ploughmans. It was good, although I had the outside slice of bread so one side was a little dry. Clearly they didn't do what we did when working in catering and use the other side as toast.

Lucy had citrus and coriander wrap. We were going to go halvsies but she decided she liked hers so much she wolfed the lot down!

We also got a this little delight. Cheese fondue!

Before anyone comments - cheese isn't my migraine trigger. I think today's was caused by last night's large glass of wine!

We did enjoy the melted cheese delight. To the extent we were gutted that we ran out of things to dip in it. The celery was awful and flimsy so we gave it a miss.

The next picture is all Lucy. I did not chastise her for it as I found it very funny!

Yep - we got a spoon. Drank it like soup. HEALTHY!

She had to get the train home, so I did a little more shopping and then came home. Which was a good thing as the migraine came back with a vengeance so back to bed I went.

I can't honestly tell you what I did for the rest of the evening. I had some dinner. I think I stayed in bed and probably caught up on my blog! I am awfully lax. Sorry.

Today's #FitTeam13 #PhotoFitChallenge isn't an easy one for me. It is all to do with swimming. I can't really swim. I'm not very confident and I don't like swimming pools really. The chemicals in the water make my skin dry and sore. I much prefer sea swimming, which only happens on holiday.

I have scoured our holiday pics for a pic of me in the sea and none exist (apart from one from about 6 years ago on me in Turkey night swimming, and it's of me in my bikini when I was super skinny but even though it's on Facebook, I'm not putting it out there AGAIN!) so here's a pic of me in Tunisia 3 years ago in the sea. This was us walking back to the hotel after swimming so technically it counts..

Yeah. I fail.

8th January 2012

My fiancé is poorly sick and I have day 3 of migraine. Seems to be a little better now but not perfect. For the past 3 days I've taken a variety of different medication (not at the same time) and some have dulled the pain but none have cured. Any suggestions?
Also included some other Lichfield pics.
So happy to be home now!

The various medicines I have taken since Friday to rid me of my headache/migraine. None have worked. For the record, I did not take them all at the same time, nor conflicting pills in the same day.

This is Buttros-Buttros. He is a very old tropical fish. A pink kissing gourami. He must be going on for 10 years old now. He's ace!

This is Ghali. He lives with Buttros-Buttros. I don't know if either of them are male or female, but they are old and pink and they kiss and stuff!

Sophicles looking out of the window at the birdies.

Chuckles in a Harvey Nicks bag. He loves it in there!

Lichfield Cathedral, as seen from my old bedroom (now the cat room) window.

Sophie in a box.

Charlie in his first collar. He does not like it. Or me, now! Nasty Auntie Cagga put it on him.

Pretty kitties on a hideous carpet!

So you can see just how tiny Charlie is! My foot is in a UK size 5 running shoe.

I'm going home to ma honey! :)
