31st August 2014 - Brrrrrr!

Lazy-ish Sunday morning for me! Paul did his usual little running spree and I didn't really do much at all. I'm so lazy!

When he got back we had a little task that he had to do...

Paul was nominated by my colleague T to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. She didn't nominate me as I'm poorly.

Hopefully the video will upload above so you can see him soak himself. Although I bet you're all sick of seeing it now, like I am!

We had a bit of a productive day and got some stuff done. That all went out of the window later, as we had an Amazon delivery (thank you Prime!) which sort of made a mess of the living room.

We ordered a new carry box for Barney as the one we usually use for him is quite old now and a little bit broken on the base. We also ordered a new 'eating station for him, as he's a messy blighter and spills biscuits EVERYWHERE in his hurry to eat all the food!

Who cares about those though! Big deliveries mean BOXES!

Well, cat, perhaps you're right. I mean Barney seemed to enjoy the box...

I was very jealous. So I turfed him out.

I can confirm that boxes are awesome and I completely understand why cats prefer them to the contents. I might live in this box now. Because...BOX! It's my fort. MINE! Barney can have the OTHER box!

ANYWAY, we struggled a little to get Barney's new carrier together but we eventually got there. We're a bit skeptical of it as it seems a bit...flimsy...and it doesn't really seem like all the parts fit together. We'll see when we test it next week.

This is it but it looks really weird in this pic! It's got a clear screen door, without some crazy grey thing across the front as it appears here. It is airline approved, not that this matters to us, sadly, and has little food containers at the front! It has a carry strap as well (hahahaha, carrying Barney over the shoulder! Dislocated shoulder for me there!) and can have a seatbelt strapped around it in the car.

Fingers crossed it stays together with Barney inside it.

Barney's new food stop. The bowls are slightly raised and  the high sides should stop him making a mess all over the floor (the mat underneath didn't make much of a difference, sadly!) and therefore create less attraction for creepy crawlies...or slugs!

After all that box sitting, we were starting to get hungry, so had a gastronomical treat of pulled pork burgers.

This was messy. Very messy.

Tasty though!

We watched more Stargate, chilled and went to bed, hoping for a good sleep!

30th August 2014 - Ouch!

I woke up at around 2am with a REALLY bad headache. I went to bed with a bit of a headache and it must have just got worse as I slept. Paul and Maia's snoring did not help.

I got up to take painkillers and struggled to get back to sleep again. Great.

No lie in for us though. We had to get up early (for a Saturday) to take Barney to Fat Cat Club for weigh in! Yes, it's been 4 weeks since last time we went!

How did he do...well...

He has lost .25kg in the last 4 weeks! It might not sound a lot but the vet was pleased with his progress. It was also on the main vet scales which weren't favourable to him last time we went so we consider that a massive success! The vet fell in love with Barney, gave him and us a massive ego boost and told us to come back in 5 weeks so we can see her again as opposed to any one else. Think she's got a crush! :)

We came home and came back to bed for a little while to try to get more sleep but failed. So we had breakfast instead. Paul made himself a sausage and egg butty and I had museli. So I didn't feel left out, he brought me a bit of a gourmet breakfast which made me smile!

When I left the house with Barney this morning, I fell over the top step of the front door. It hurt a little. I thought it was just a little graze.

The side of my manky foot got a little bruised. My toe also started cramping up again. It does this sometimes and it's really painful. I can't get it to stop, no matter how much stretching and massage I do. So whilst I lay on bed listening to the radio and planning my day, I put my trainer on it, hoping to support it a little!

It's a good look, right?!

Paul later remembered some stuff he learnt while on work experience at a Physiotherapist and that I might have something called Plantar Fasciitis. Having read about it using Dr Google, it sounds like he might be right. It could all be linked to the problems with my ankle/calves/hips/back. So that's nice. There's also no cure, I just have to stretch it out! Great. It's bloomin' painful!

If only I could just be a kitty. That seems easier!

 Sunbathing in a sun puddle would be the perfect way of spending a day!

Eventually we got up. Paul went to watch football and I went to clean the upstairs bathroom and do a bit of sorting out in the spare room as Mum and Dad are coming to stay soon.

It was a productive afternoon and I got loads done! I then looked at my foot again and the purple is spreading!

We had dinner and watched Dr Who then the start of X Factor. Yes, it's back again as is Cowell. Which means it's nearly Christmas.

Paul watched some with me but was pretty tired so went to bed. I stayed up for a while, chatted with some friends and watched more tv.

I also watched Maia being a cutie pie!

 She was rolling around being adorable! I tried to video it but she was having none of it. I managed to get her on video a little bit but not doing the rolling thing!

It was getting late so I headed to bed at around 1am. I'm surprised I was able to stay up that long!

29th August 2014 - Oh Happy Day!

No gym for us this morning as we're a couple of lazy sausages who just want to sleep for an extra hour!

It was absolutely throwing it down this morning so I made the decision to go to work early just so I could get a lift in from Paul! Another sign that I'm a big lazy bum but at least I was a dry lazy bum! Plus I had a load of work to do and really needed to be there early!

Really busy day today but no crashes of the machine, which is useful!

I made pretty much all the calls I had to make, leaving mostly voicemails as people didn't want to answer the phone to me (I'm not complaining, believe me!) and by the end of the day my throat was really sore again.

Only one thing for it...

FIZZ FRIDAY! :) :) :)

This is probably the last one we'll get to have, as we may have a newbie starting next week. What we realised is that it's actually the anniversary of Fizz Friday beginning! This time last year it was my last day in work before the big W Day! It's also the last Friday before T and her husband's wedding anniversary as well! They'll have been married 18 years on Sunday! Wow!

Not content with being chauffeured to work, I got picked up to go home as well! SCORE! We popped to the shops to get a few bits for dinner, then came home. Paul chilled out with a couple of beers on the sofa and I went and ran a bath. I figured I deserved one!

Barney agreed.

He does love watching the bath run! He's a bit scared of the bubbles though. This is odd because he loves it when I blow bubbles for him. Silly boy!

After my lovely relaxing bath, I came downstairs to join Paul and eat dinner of random bits and bobs out of the freezer so we can defrost the thing. We also watched a few episodes of Stargate SG1. Yeah. I started getting a headache so I headed up to bed. I tried to read but sleep overtook me and I nodded off.

It was quite a good day though! Bring on the weekend!

28th August 2014 - Donde Esta La Biblioteca?

An early start this morning but not for the gym. Paul had to go to Manchester. I didn't want to be awake at silly o'clock but I didn't really have much choice in the matter!

Mental day at the office. I was on the ball and got loads done but my throat was mashed by the end of all the calls I had made. Got about half way through the pile of clients whom I needed to contact so had to save the rest for tomorrow.

Which meant that I didn't want to do ANYTHING at all this evening! Just vegetate!

Paul had been in Leeds in the afternoon so didn't get back until about 6:30pm, so I had been vegetating on the sofa for about an hour before he got back! I had thrown the ball around for Barney for a bit, until Barn decided he was too tired to keep playing! Think thin, Barney! It's weigh-in at Fat Club on Saturday!

We had the rest of our usual Spanish Chicken for tea. It was good. Can never eat all the sweet potato though.

It's a mucky meal as well. Luckily that dish cleans well! All that chicken/chorizo fat is better in there than in me!

I also had discovered that Season 1 of Community was on Amazon Prime streaming (what was LoveFilm) so trawled through a few of those episodes! It's been ages since we watched them!

Ah, this rap. We love it!

We then went to bed, all set for a productive Friday. Hopefully!

27th August 2014 - Tacky Treasures!

Feeling only a teeny tiny bit better today. Just a little update for you.

Today was pretty much the same old same old all over again! Nothing new to report about work. It was busy and the computer crashed again for about an hour. Not helpful for our productivity.

I got home and did a little bit of clearing up as Chris was coming over for #Whedonsday! Yay!

We haven't seen him for a few weeks as he has been to Florida with his family for some fun! As is our tradition, he brought us an amazing present back! I think he has peaked with this beauty!

 Nothing says Florida more than a plastic bible, some praying hands, a couple of shells and some plastic plant thing glued onto a large shell and attached to a magnet, right?!

It's a thing of beauty!

We ate Hong Kong pork curry (or King Kong Curry as we know it), drank beer and watched Whedon for a few hours! It was a good evening.

Once Chris went to catch his train, it was time for us to wind down and go to bed. We're lightweights. Can't be seeing 11pm! That would be ridiculous!

26th August 2014 - More of the usual

We didn't go to the gym this morning. My poorly sickness of yesterday probably meant that we shouldn't. Any excuse to be lazy, right?

Paul waited around a little later than usual this morning so he could give me a lift to work as I wasn't on top form. He's a good boy! I appreciated it!

It was a really busy day in the office, not assisted by the fact that our system kept going down. Oh, and A was checking his emails while he is on holiday and sending extra stuff for us to do. Talk about frustrating! You're on holiday, pal! Forget about us!

After work I came home, pondered for a while about being lazy then remembered I did that all weekend, so got on with my usual Tuesday job of doing the ironing. Fun fun fun.

My ironing board cover has looked prettier but that's what it is! It's the only vaguely interesting thing I could take a picture of today! Running out of ways to photograph the ironing. I need to do more interesting stuff on a Tuesday!

Once I finished we had dinner, watched some tv but I was feeling tired so came to bed to read for a while but mostly to sleep. Head colds make you tired. True story.

25th August 2014 - Bank Holiday Beep-day!

Another fairly lazy day. I felt REALLY crappy today. Stupid head cold. My throat hurt and my sinuses really were not my friends. Stupid head.

So instead of being productive, as I had promised myself I would be, the only thing I could bring myself to do was have another lazy bed day to try to recover. Future self may not be impressed that she has all this work to do next weekend but today this was the best thing for me!

After having a day of Maia cuddles yesterday, today was Barney's turn. Not that he cuddles, but his presence helped me feel better. He's so handsome!

It's so hard to photograph black cats, so I am really pleased with these pictures now I see them on the computer!

He loves hanging out under the laptop tray. So handsome!

I messed around on the internet a little and we put some movies on to entertain ourselves. We started with Serenity, which is pretty much a staple watch for us when we're being lazy. I should add that Paul went for a run this morning while I lazed in bed feeling sorry for myself, so at least one of us was active!

We then watched Thor 2 (can't remember it's full title!) and True Blood. The last True Blood. Waaaaaaa!

In tribute to this, I feel the need to post this:

I can't find the actual opening, but that's a great song. Paul wouldn't let me pick it for our first dance though. Bit sad about that. Don't know what he means that it wouldn't be appropriate...

Anyway!

So True Blood ended. It was a bit shocking, a bit sad but it's done. It's not like Lost where there are still a million and one questions that need answering. Although, it seemed like they were going a different way with one of the plot lines then decided they didn't want to go that way and went another. I wonder if there's an alternate ending made for the dvd...hmmmmm...

Anyway, here's sleeping Barney!

He was dreaming away! It was adorable! His paws were running at times, his face was twitching but he was so peaceful! I love that little boy!

After True Blood we decided to watch Captain America 2 again. It was good! I think that's just what I needed to have on today as my brain couldn't focus on anything new I don't think!

It was then time for sleep as it's back to work time tomorrow and I need to be slightly well to get through the day. A is away all week so T and I have loads to do between us. Could be interesting.
