26th December 2014 - Boxing Day (AKA Tedmas 2)

I had a lousy night's sleep. Tradition states this. I always seem to be ill at Michael and Annabel's house!

I got up in the night to cough and it was so bad I made myself sick. TMI? Maybe. I went downstairs as I didn't want to disturb the baby. I heard him a couple of times but he didn't cry - more just made noise! It's cute, as a guest. I'm sure that's not the case as the parent when you're getting a good sleep!

I then had to get up and find a glass to get some water for Paul as he was starting to feel a bit poorly. Whether it's the wine or my cold, who knows. I furnished him with water and got a little more sleep.

I told Annabel last night that Paul normally wakes up early and goes downstairs to watch tv. Well, it was me today. I was up early and chilling in the living room when Annabel came down with my well rested little pal!

So we gave him one of his new toys (this egg thing with chicks in it...kids love it apparently!) and let him play!

As with yesterday, the front facing camera was ever present, and this morning he was just as smiley at himself as he had been yesterday!

I LOVE THIS LITTLE FACE!

We were happily playing, and I tried to take a picture of how happily he was playing when he looked up at me like this...

I mean...just...AW!

Elvis also got a little bit of action as well!

Elvis has a mirror on his side, so that got lots of smiles, which is good!

Yeah, there are a million Ted pictures, but I can't resist sharing them!

The many selfie faces of Ted J Hartley!

Nummy Eggy toy!

Obligatory Ted playing video!

Bellatrix was also keeping us company this morning...loving the nip, as ever. She positively destroyed the neatly contained scratching post to get to the leftover nip! She's a nip fiend!

She's just so cute!

Paul has caught my lurgy, which is naturally the end of the world. He stayed in bed as long as possible and had some medicine with breakfast.  He had a lot of driving to do, so I had to go along with what he wanted.

We got on our way at around 11, with a quick stop at the shops to get a few bits and bobs before starting up the M6. There was a fair bit of traffic on the motorway, so we stopped so Paul could have a coffee to perk himself up a little.

We then carried on to my Aunt's house near Preston for the Hartley family party, made extra special because it's the first time that they got to meet Ted! Very special!

Any excuse for a Ted selfie, complete with Christmas cracker hat and reindeer jumper!

Everyone was understandably smitten with our new family member and he was all smiles for them, not at all scared, which is really nice!

Here is with some presents from his Great Uncle and Auntie. Lolz. They won't like me saying that! He seemed to like them very much and was talking to them, which is uber cute!

Scary Auntie Whiney doesn't get smiles when in pictures!

Just to prove there were other people at the family party, not just Ted, here's a view of the room!

The adorable Emile and Jacob as fun as ever!

We all got our Secret Santa presents...when I say all, me and my Aunt had an IOU as Santa forgot our gifts! Oh well, means Christmas lasts a bit longer!

So my gift can be more pictures of Ted!

Grandma Hartley and Ted having a few giggles!

...and more giggles. Grandma Hartley certainly likes playtime with Ted!

We did give other people a go. He wanted to play with my cousin Karen as well!

By play with Karen, it probably meant pull her hair! He's not too violent with it though, and is so very cute!

Mum soon got him back though, and posed him for a cuddle with my cousin Adam!

They didn't stay much longer as it's a two hour drive back for them. Ted was getting tired so would hopefully sleep in the car.

One last Ted selfie?

Complete with photobomb from Granddad Hartley in the background!

Going to miss his little face now! Christmas is definitely much better with little ones around!

We didn't stay much longer either as we needed to head over to Blackpool for the Kirkham family party!

There were cocktails and lots of play time with the adorable twins S and O, plus lots of girly talk with my little flowergirl S, who is turning into a little lady and is very beautiful!

I got turned into aliens, dogs, chickens etc far more times than I can count but it's all good. I also got to play with the giant Asali, who featured in last year's post which you can see below. Last year I took a photo of her giant puppy paw. 1 year later and it's a little bigger!

2013 on the left. 2014 on the right. She's deffo growing!

Paul wasn't feeling particularly amazing or social so we only stayed for a couple of hours. We had heard rumours of snow falling, especially in the Midlands and we didn't want to get caught in it if it spread up north.

There was a bit of sleet, but not too bad. Paul came in and made himself a hot toddy, getting changed into something a little more comfortable.

See those Avengers 'lounge pants'? Yep - they're from me! You're welcome, Paul!

Avengers, coincidentally, was on the tv! Despite having watched it at least a million times already, we watched it again!

Maia was very happy to see us. Mostly because it meant that she got fed!

Barney and I had a little bit of play time. It was then that I realised that he wasn't all 'butter won't melt' as he had been a naughty boy. Again.

He loves white wires and had set to on Paul's Mum's phone charger. He has done this before with her camera wire during our wedding. He's so naughty. I gave her my phone wire which is identical as an apology. He's so bad.

We watched the movie and then it was time for Match of the Day so I headed to bed. Hopefully to get more sleep than the last couple of nights!

23rd June 2014 - The things we do for our babies!

As mentioned at the end of yesterday's post, we both knew we would not be gymming this morning. It was probably for the best to make that plan before sleep rather than have the alarm go off at silly o'clock and not be able to get back to sleep again afterwards so the lie in was pointless.

I pottered around the house a little before heading out to work. A is back today so it could either be a mental day or a quiet one. He was grumpy (what's new) and hid in his room. Fine by us! BossMan T was also in and being grumpy. It was a day for the grumps.

I don't know how BossMan T can be grumpy though! He's been sorting through paperwork and his Grandson drew him this:

Isn't that awesome?! He had another Captain America drawing that he had done but maybe I'll save taking a pic of that for another time! Little D is clearly a comic guy! :)

When I came home, I decided to get all the ironing done today so I could have the rest of the weekend off big chores like that! Paul was late coming home so I was kept company by the babies!

Barney is too hot and bothered. He turned his belly to the tiny draught coming from the window. He's not happy.

Maia also kept me company, but she wasn't so bothered by the heat.

The first thing I insisted on doing when Paul got home was go into the loft to get the fan down. Was going to get the suitcases down as well for our upcoming holiday, but decided against it as the house is a mess already as it is without extra clutter.

I then went back to the ironing, slightly cooler than before, thanks to the fan and Paul got on with dinner.

Spicy pork steaks with cold beans, coleslaw and salad. Mmmm! It was nice. Nothing amazing, but nice!

We watched the new episode of True Blood as it started last night! No Eric. Not amused. Then I went back upstairs to do the rest of the the ironing. That's how the evening went!

24/12/2013 - Christmas Eve!

I woke up this morning when my alarm went off all confused. While I knew I had to get up for work this morning, when the alarm went off I had temporarily forgotten!

We had to work for as long as we had work to do. So basically we had to wait to do the post. By 11am I was starving then I remembered that I had a mince pie from yesterday to eat! Excellent!

Very nice it was too! I think I'm feeling a little Christmassy now! Nothing like a mince pie to help you feel a little festive!

After we had sorted the post, I sent T home and got a few bits done, Paul came to get me and I was able to leave at about 1pm. We went to the shops which were manic. The car park was like a car park! You couldn't get out of it for love nor money! It took us about 15 minutes to get out of it!

We sorted a few bits at home, packed etc and then headed over to Paul's parents' so we could actually start Christmas! WHOOP!

Barney in his box being a little angel. He's always so good!

We got over to Paul's parents' and Paul got cooking our Christmas Eve masterpiece dinner. I started unpacking when I realised that we had actually forgotten to bring our clothes! We had some bits, but not all of them! OOPS! Paul decided he would go back tomorrow. Probably for the best.

I watched Toy Story 2 with Paul's Dad in the light of the Christmas tree!

Thank you, Google + for sparkling it up! It looks almost like it does in real life!

We had a roast ham with trimmings for dinner. We have it every year, and have for the past few. It's delicious!

How succulent does that ham look?!

I didn't take a picture of the full dinner, but I assure you it was fantastic!

We then settled in for a night of mindless TV and pudding!

Check out the Tiramisu!

Paul and his Dad had some of the above. I had pannacotta. I love pannacotta. It did not disappoint!

We watched The Avengers (because it was on Sky Movies, and who can resist) and then I went to bed! We had a new mattress on Paul's old bed, and I wanted to be the first on it. By golly it was worth it! It was rock solid and wonderful!

Then I fell into slumber...

28/06/2013 - Long Day

We got up and went to the gym. Again. I hope you're all inspired by our dedication. I hope it lasts a long time.

Then into work I go. Busy busy day, but I got through it.

My boss collects newspapers like they are going out of fashion. This one caught my eye.

FREE LEGO GANDALF?!?! WANT! It's still not enough justification to buy the Daily Mail but still...I WANT LEGO GANDALF!!!!

Aherm.

After work we chilled. Paul played on Gran Turismo a little, including racing camper vans, which is ace, and I read stuff on the internet. And was kept company by my little spiderman!

I love this little chap! Doesn't he look like he's smiling?!

We put The Avengers on bluray and I fell asleep during the epic battle at the end. It's been a long week!

I think I slept as soundly as smiling spidercat above!

05/05/2013 - Aaand relax

It's Sunday. It's also the middle day of a 3-day weekend here, so I fully intend on making the most of it and doing sweet naff-all!

Well, when I say naff all, I mean stuff that doesn't require a great deal of effort. After all, it's Sunday. It's the day of rest. And I mean that this time!

Even today's #FitTeam13 #PhotoFitChallenge says that it's relaxation day! Who am I to argue?!

However, I did leave the house! Paul and I walked to the Supermarket. Because it's not raining, and we weren't buying a lot, there is absolutely no reason to take the car!

Due to the hideousness of the weather in the early part of the year, everything is blooming late now. So we have spring blossom which I'm pretty sure you usually get in March on the trees now.

I love blossom. I think it's beauuuutiful! It's rare to see it where I live as there are no gardens really, so I had to take a picture of this today!

Once we got back, Paul went to the football and I did ridiculous amounts of washing. Seriously. 7 loads. Urgh. We should wear less clothes!

I also sorted a load of wedding paperwork into a bigger folder so everything can be in one place. We've also been using many different 'project books' for this task, so I consolidated everything into one book, complete with tabs. I hope you're impressed. I am. Just got some finer details to work out but we can start that tomorrow. Remember, today is rest day! Plus I can't make these decisions without Paul, can I?!

Once Paul returned we had dinner and watched The Avengers. Because we needed to watch something! Then to bed. Fabulous.

Anyway, Day 5's rest day picture to follow.

Me chillin' on the bed with a large brew and my babba! Perfect rest!

I can't very well take rest photographs without snapping the two most rested residents of my household.

 Maia resting.

Barney just hangin' out.

I wish I could be one of my cats sometimes. They have an easy life!
