Productive Saturday, anyone?
Yeah, we had a very productive morning. Did shopping in Speke, Liverpool city centre and Asda.
Does anyone else get REALLY annoyed with people in town when they are shopping? Why do people walk so slowly? And not in a straight line? And look at you like you're in their way when you're walking normally?! Is there some sort of shopping etiquette that were are not sticking to? I didn't know there was one? Walk slowly and irritate the heck out of as many people as possible? Believe you are the most important people on the high street and make it your mission to take as many people out with your paper Primark bags as possible?!
Aherm.
Anyway.
When we got back home, after a quick clear up, we decided to take on a massive challenge. Anyone who follows me on twitter may have noticed me posting things with the hashtag #Do40ForLent. Basically, a personal trainer has taken it upon himself to help the folks on twitter get fitter and be gym free. All the exercises and challenges he sets can be done at home or in the local park. Great idea, right? So he decided that he doesn't like people who give up, so instead of giving things up for Lent, we needed to do things for Lent. Do 40 of them. Brilliant. Except on this, the final day, we had to do ALL the previous exercises. All 40 of them. Well, 36 or so I think it worked out as.
Paul and I took on the above challenge. It was bloody tough! I'm not in bad shape but my muscles aren't very strong...or particularly existent now I mention it! THIS IS NOT EASY.
I actually was laughing and crying at the same time by 'day 25'...
I expect this is going to be hurting me for a good few days now. Legs are so tired and wobbly, they don't want me to move. I may have to oblige them.
Random rantings, thoughts and sightings by someone who probably has better things to do but no desire to do them!

I can't believe it's April already. Seriously. How fast is this year going?
Today is Good Friday. Which means a bonus day off work! Which meant I didn't get out of bed til 6pm!
The joys of staying in bed this long are that the kitties come and cuddle you and provide you with cute blog fodder!
It might have become clear by now but I love my cats. It's very difficult to decide if my cats love each other though. Barney is definitely the annoying younger brother. Take the above picture for example - Maia was sitting under the blind, minding her own business, talking to the pigeons as they fly by...then Barney jumps up into the tiny space behind her to watch too, thus pushing her along the window. He could have just jumped up to the other side, where there was HALF THE WINDOW LEDGE to sit on. Hmph.
Barney chases Maia. Barney tries to tear Maia's throat out. Maia doesn't like it. Yet when they lie on the bed together; if he's a reachable distance away, Maia will give him a wash. It doesn't last long as Barney enjoys it at first, then realises that Maia is washing him and gives her a quick smack!

In this instance, however; Barney decided to use Maia's bottom as a pillow. She let him for a whole 5 minutes before deciding it probably wasn't the safest option in the long term, and ran away!

Is there anything better than a big mug of tea?
Yes. Yes there is. An even bigger mug of tea! And I has one! :-)
This is my original work mug. It's pretty big. It's also pretty. However Natalie did one better and found me THIS ONE!
Sports Direct seem to do massive mugs. She got it free and gave it to my colleague, James. It's too much for him so I got it! I love it! It doesn't hold much more than my previous mug, but any extra tea is a bonus in my book! Strong, skimmed milk, 1/2 a sugar if you're offering! :)
So what happened next is a complete comedy. So much so, it would be an injustice to tell the story myself. I will let this sketch by a top northern comedian explain it to you:
*I do hope the above works*
Anyway, yeah...cheap biscuits dunked in your brew is not advised. I laughed so much it hurt!
This is what I found at the bottom of my mug. Bleugh! Still very funny though!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY HARTLEY!
People all over the world, please wish my fantastic father a happy birthday! He's had a sucky time recently so he needs some love and best wishes people!
Today was also #Whedonsday. If you don't know what it is...well...personally I think it should be reclassified as a public holiday, as it's a weekly (apart from when work gets in the way) celebration of the works of the legend that is Joss Whedon!
To celebrate, we watch loads of stuff he's done, eat amazing food (usually cooked by Paul) and drink foamy foamy beer! Awesome!
Last night we had bangers and sweet potato & carrot mash, with green beans and asparagus doused with onion gravy, followed by apple crumble and custard.
MMMM.

Work was boring. I won't bore you with it.
After work, Paul and I went to this place...
The Looney bin. Where all the crazy people go. Also known as The Gym.
I think I might have taken some guy's machine, but as there was no stuff on it and it wasn't paused, how was I to know?!
They got me back, as the work out wasn't recorded on my key fob so it looks like all I did was row for 5 minutes, and that's only because I manually inputted it. I was mighty displeased, so I was.
Pah. I'll show them. Or I'll just secretly send death stares behind their back and mock them when I think they aren't listening.

Day of celebration!
***
Paul passed his probation period at his job so now he's a right proper employee! Yay!
***
We also officially booked our wedding date! Double yay!
***
So we had chippy tea and champagne to celebrate. We can be naughty, as you only get to do this once, right?!

Back to the gym tomorrow for me. I have a wedding dress to fit in, in 523 days... :0D
