18th February 2012

Today is the first birthday of the beautiful A Andrews. My best friend's baby, and the youngest of my 4 bridesmaids!

As we're actually going to the birthday party tomorrow, I give her a special post then.

Today I shall dedicate my post to Caturday! Oh, and Sim Unicorns! :-)

Maia had the choice of two beds. She decided it would be far comfier to lie between them. Fine!

She then decided that she wasn't warm enough. So came the invention of the Maia Cave! See how happy she looks?! #Aw

The safety of her snuggly spot is at stake! OH NO! There is only one thing to do, and that's hire a guard. After hours of interviews, there is only one that fits the criteria perfectly...

If your name's not down, you're not coming in.

Ah yes, The Barnacle.

Later on, I decided to give the living room a bit of a clean, as the in-laws were coming over. You do find mad things underneath the sofa cushions. This came as a bit of a surprise to be honest...

As promised, here are a few pics of a sim-unicorn. BECAUSE I FOUND ONE!

The game named him 'Boogie Horse'...CHECK OUT HIS BEARD!

He's a bit of a diva

When he drinks, rainbows appear!

He loves Katharine, though. Or maybe he thinks she looks like food...

I might make him friends with Katharine, invite him to move in and then rename him Gandalf!

Aherm...

See you tomorrow!

17th February 2012

Ever heard the phrase "it's like looking for a needle in a haystack? Well today I had to do just that...well, the needle was a letter typed about 4 years ago, and the haystack was every work pc I've ever used.

I haven't found it yet.

16th February 2012

It's my Auntie Barbara's birthday today! Happy Birthday!

Work was uneventful, as ever. Which is good I suppose. I'm starting to get abusive calls from clients again as they aren't happy that their solicitor isn't speaking to them. It always puts me in a bad mood as it's not my fault! It's even more irritating as when I pass the abusive messages on, the solicitor thinks it's funny. Surely I have a right to work and be respected? Maybe I should buy a poster...

Anyway, came home to poorly Paul and chilled out.

I've had some people ask me how my savaged hand is now, nearly a month on. Well it's ok, thanks!

My little finger peeled a lot. It's now quite red in comparison to the others but other than a few little scars, I think I made a full recovery! Thanks!

I am well aware I am in need of a manicure. The less said about the state of my nails right now, the better!

There is still some teeth-sized bruising in the little finger nail, and the digit itself looks a bt ugly. Better that than her biting the end of my finger off like she was trying to! :)

You can see how messed up they were here and here.

Anyway, to bed. There is a feline hot water bottle in need of a snuggle!

G'night!

15th February 2012

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY HARTLEY!

She doesn't read this. But everyone send some Stevie Wonder songs to her anyway!

Paul has a really bad cold. It came on on Monday, and floored him yesterday. So tonight has been all about a good old Scottish remedy known as the Hot Toddy.

Basically, all you need is boiling water, whiskey, honey, a wedge of lemon, a cinnamon stick and some cloves, if that's what you fancy. Put them in a nice big mug (measures vary to taste) and stir it all up! Then voila! You get a good hearty drink to rid you of your lurgy!

Naturally, I am joining in the toddy love to fend off any germs coming my way! ;)

14th February 2012

Happy Hallmark-Profit day!

Nah, I'm a little softie really! I can't say I'm all about expensive presents, overpriced red roses (I prefer yellow ones btw) and chocolates. I prefer more original and thoughtful gifts. Which is exactly what I got!

My heart-shaped non-spikey (kitty danger) cactus. I love it!

I much prefer gifts on days when you don't expect them. If Paul wants to buy me expensive flowers, chocolates, jewels, cars, he's more than welcome to! Don't get me wrong, I like pretty things! I also like originality, and my cactus is just that. Plus I can't keep normal plants alive, so hopefully this one will fare better! :)

I know some people reading this will probably think that I am only saying those things because I wasn't given expensive flowers or chocolates; or that I'm pissed off because Paul didn't spend millions in Tiffany's. Fine. Think that if you want. Anyone who knows me, knows that I mean what I say!

Short entry today. I know you don't mind!

**updated: I have know idea why this didn't post earlier! I just noticed it hadn't published. Stupid thing. Soz about that, la!**

13th February 2012

Longest day in work ever. Seriously. I had to ask permission to go have a lunch break!

Then I had to get a train to Manchester. Which was stuck behind a delayed train to Wigan. We hadn't even got to Newton-Le-Willows when there was a points failure. Delayed by half an hour. Disgraceful. Helped a disabled bloke find his connecting train and met Paul. We then went for a sneaky snack at my favourite restaurant in Manchester.

Sorry for the blur. My phone is drunk.

If you are ever in Manchester, you HAVE to go and eat at Sam's Chop House. Traditional grub...but awesome! Fabulous wine selection as well, if you're that way inclined! Try it! You'll like it! The corned beef hash is yummilicious, and I'm also partial to their vegetarian sausages.

So from there, we went to a tiny little venue called the Manchester Evening News Arena. And saw this chap...

Can you tell who it is yet?

For those of you who are still none the wiser; this is a fella called Noel Gallagher, and the other dudes on stage are his High Flying Birds.

My review - pretty good! He wasn't on very long but still got loads of songs on, including some new takes on old Oasis songs. He had the band, a brass section and even a choir on stage! Thoroughly enjoyed it, but wish it hadn't been a Monday night! Shattered now!

The lighting of this show was brilliant. Some people don't appreciate how much work goes into lighting shows, but it either makes or breaks a performance. Last night the lighting did not disappoint. This pic above, with the yellow was my favourite.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day for you romantics out there...and Tuesday for everyone else! Wonder if Paul's bought me another diamond... *

*I hope not...we have a wedding to save for...

*I wouldn't turn it down though...

*But as I only just got the last one, it's a bit too much to ask...

12th February 2012

Woke up this morning to the news that Whitney Houston had passed away. While I can't say I was a massive fan, while I was growing up her music was everywhere in the theatre where I spent most of my time. So many auditions where little girls sing I Will Always Love You, while not truly understanding the meaning of the lyrics...but anyway. I sang The Greatest Love Of All as one of my first solos in school (plus the Buffy connotation) so that song will always be special.

Moving on from the morbid, I think one of my neighbours was getting their revenge on my musical extravaganza of yesterday. While Paul was out shopping, there was a lot of music. I looked out the window to see if I could guess which house it was...

No sign of a party this way...

Nothing that way. And my neighbour really has ballsed up the pavement!

I also took my new favourite pic of Maia today. Her belly was looking particularly ginger and I wanted to get a picture...what I got was this:

MUUUUUUM! STOP TAKING MY PHOTO! SOME BITS ARE MEANT TO BE PRIVATE!

Tomorrow I am actually doing something! You all will be shocked I know. Watch this space..
